Break-and-enter nets charges for Mississauga, Oshawa men

Men from Mississauga and Oshawa have been charged in connection to a break-and-enter in Vaughan.

An electronics store near Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive was broken into on April 5. Two men approached the store in a commercial plaza around 3:15 a.m.

The pair allegedly caused significant damage to the store’s entryway. They then made off with a large amount of electronics. Later York police discovered a storage unit in Toronto by Caledonia Road and Bridgeland Avenue which, they allege, was being used to store stolen goods.

Two men entered the storage unit on April 8 and were arrested. During the arrest, police claim, one of the men was carrying a loaded pistol.

Investigators then raided six locations and turned up $40,000 worth of laptops, cell phones and tablets. In total police arrested three people;

  • Delcio Salvador Mota, 21 Oshawa, charged with
    • two counts of theft over $5,000
    • two counts of break-and-enter
    • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
    • two counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
    • two counts of mischief over $5,000
    • weapons dangerous
    • careless firearm storage
    • carrying a concealed weapon
    • possession of a firearm without a licence
    • possession of a restricted firearm while knowingly not holding a licence
    • possession of a restricted weapon or prohibited device knowingly without authority
    • occupying a car with a gun
    • possession of a loaded regulated gun
    • possession of break-in instruments, and
  • Roberto-Angelo Staicu, 22 of Mississauga, charged with
    • theft over $5,000
    • break and enter
    • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
    • conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
    • mischief over $5,000
  • Daniela Hernandez Tobon, 21 of Toronto, charged with
    • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and
    • conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
