A small town located just outside the big and bustling GTA city of Brampton is now home to a new “high-end boutique retreat” that has taken shape inside a building that’s more than a century old.

Recently, the team behind the new Liberty Inn, a boutique hotel in Caledon, announced that the intimate five-suite property, which also features a spa, will celebrate its official grand opening next month. The inn, located at the edge of Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, was previously known as the Forks of the Credit Inn before husband and wife duo Bruno Roldan and Jacqui Liberty acquired the property in 2022.

Liberty, a potter, is the founder of the Caledon-based Soft Fire Ceramics.

According to a news release, the inn is housed in a building that dates back to 1855, making it one of Canada’s oldest stone and brick buildings. The operators say the duo have worked to preserve the property’s heritage features while working to revitalize the space, pairing classic elements with “modern luxury and timeless charm.”

“The Liberty Inn is more than a place to stay—it’s a place to feel inspired. We’ve created an environment where every detail invites guests to pause, reflect, and connect—with themselves, with nature, and with the people they love,” said Roldan and Liberty in a statement.

“Our hope is that The Liberty Inn becomes a place of meaning for every person who steps through its doors.”

The inn boasts five suites, three designed for couples and two created to accommodate up to five guests. The suites include kitchens with local breakfast items, living areas and private bedrooms.

As far as spa facilities go, the operators say the inn offers a “private woodland spa experience,” with a wellness hub that includes a sauna, cold plunge pool, hot tub and wood-burning fireplace.

Each suite also includes red and blue light therapy masks and some offer steam showers. One room boasts an infrared sauna.

Not unexpectedly, the Liberty Inn features numerous works created by Liberty, including 10,000 floor tiles, mugs, bowls and plates.

The interior was created in collaboration with Tiffany Leigh Designs and also features pieces by local artists.

The grand opening will take place on Feb. 6.
