If you have a taste for fine dining and Indian food, you’re in luck, because a new Indian restaurant has officially opened its doors in Brampton.

Anokhi Fine Dining has taken over the space where Mayura used to be near Hurontario and Ray Lawson, complete with an Anokhi Patisserie next door.

As for Anokhi Fine Dining, you’ll find Indian restaurant staples on the menu such as chicken tikka, aloo tikki, and chaat.

Most menu items feature a unique twist on Indian classics.

You’ll also find such items as coconut and cardamom soup, chicken and lamb kabobs, and even fish tacos topped with spicy eggplant salsa and cumin sour cream.

Vegetarian items include paneer tacos, stuffed aloo tikki – an Indian-style potato patty stuffed with cottage cheese and green chillies, and even saag paneer and daal.

It’s quite an expansive menu.

The mains go on to feature such mouth-watering concoctions as classic butter chicken, fish curry, biryani, and lamb vindaloo.

Profiteroles, gulab jamun, and freshly baked tarts are just a few of the dessert options.

As for Anokhi Pâtisserie next door, French pastries meet Indian flavours, according to the restaurant’s website.

“Choose from a wide variety of Macarons, Bon Bons with flavours like Paan, Kesar (Saffron), Aam Papad(Spiced Mango Jelly) as well as fresh Cakes and Entremets,” reads the site.

The mastermind behind the menu?

Chef Sarwan Singh is the head chef at Anokhi, with 15 years of experience in food and fine dining.

The new resto is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.
