Brampton’s ChutneyFest a celebration of Indo-Caribbean culture

Brampton’s annual ChutneyFest, which celebrates Indo-Caribbean culture, is being held virtually July 24 and 25 this year.
The Canadian Indo-Caribbean Festival hosts the event, which crowns a ChutneyFest Champion musical act every year.
Here are the 10 acts that will compete for the title: Connector; Randy B; Queen Yasmin; Yangki Tiny Beti; Malibu; Navin Yankaran; John Sankar; Trinistylez; Kishen; and Yax Vaidya.
Due to pandemic restrictions on large gatherings, the performances will be streamed live on chutneyfest.com from 5 to 10 p.m. on both days.
ChutneyFest showcases the best of local Indo-Caribbean talent, featuring key elements of the culture through various food, music and dance.
