From the redevelopment of Shoppers World to a proposed affordable residence called “Solar Steps,” 18 of Brampton’s top urban design projects are up for this year’s People’s Choice Award.

People can cast their votes until Aug. 14.

Focusing on the theme of inclusivity, the Brampton Urban Design Awards recognizes “significant contributions” made by city-builders, urban designers, architects, landscape architects, artists and design students.” The biennial awards program celebrates “innovation, creativity, and design excellence in the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and inclusive urban-built environments in Brampton.”

This year the program focuses on socio-economic themes and best practice design standards, including themes of active design, aging population, sustainability, accessibility, safety, equity, health and wellbeing.

Winners will be announced in October.
