Police in Toronto have arrested a Brampton woman following a bank robbery.

Toronto Police say a woman entered a branch at Kingston Rd. and Morningside Ave. in Scarborough around 9:30 a.m. yesterday (December 16) and handed the teller a threatening note demanding cash.

The teller handed over a large amount of money and then the woman fled the scene.

A short time later Toronto’s Hold-Up Squad made an arrest and recovered clothing they believed was used in the robbery as well as some cash.

Makyla Kennedy, 22, of Brampton now faces charges of robbery, wearing disguise with intent and possession of property obtained through crime.

She is scheduled for a December 16 court date.
