Brampton woman charged after loaded pistol found at a motel

A Brampton woman faces weapon charges after police found a loaded pistol in a motel.

Patrol officers responded to a motel in the area of Queen Street and Airport Road in Brampton for a report of a firearm on Tuesday (Nov. 15), Peel Regional Police said in a press release.

Police found a fully loaded 9mm compact Glock pistol.

Taylor Schneider, 21, of Brampton is charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
  • Possession of a firearm without being the holder of a licence.
  • Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed.
  • Careless storage of a firearm.
  • Fail to comply with release order.

At the time of her arrest, Schneider was prohibited from carrying weapons stemming from prior charges.

Schneider remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Nov. 16.

Police are searching for additional culprits in this case and the investigation continues.
