Brampton trucker killed in crash with tractor-trailer near Marathon

Police are investigating a serious crash between two tractor-trailers on the weekend that left a Brampton man dead.

Around 1:30 a.m. on March 19, the Marathon OPP says police officers were called to a stretch of Highway 17 near Neys Provincial Park, some 39 kilometres west of Marathon.

Police say two tractor-trailers crashed and one of the drivers, a 37-year-old from Brampton, was killed in the collision. The other driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by EMS.

Investigators have not released any additional details about either of the victims.

The OPP is investigating what led to the crash and says members of the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team and collision reconstructionists have been called in to assist with the investigations.
