Around 2:30 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 13), the Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Wellington County detachment were called about a driver “acting erratically” on McLean Rd. in the Township of Puslinch, some 18 kilometres south of Guelph.

Police say they investigated the driver and found they were under suspension.

A 25-year-old from Brampton has been charged with:

  • Driving while under Suspension
  • Drive Commercial Vehicle without Required Inspection
  • Fail to Accurately Complete Daily Inspection Report
  • Fail to Surrender Completed Daily Inspection Report

A business out of Port Elgin was also issued provincial offence notices for:

  • Fail to Ensure Daily Inspection is Conducted Properly
  • Permit Unlicensed Person to Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle

Police have not released the name or any details of the driver or the company. The driver is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court on May 17. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
