Police have charged a transport driver from Brampton with careless driving after two trucks crashed on Wednesday (March 2).

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police say members of the Temiskaming OPP Detachment and the Temagami Fire Department responded to a collision on Highway 11 near Temagami, some 160 kilometres northeast of Sudbury.

Police say a commercial motor vehicle was headed southbound on Highway 11 and a second truck was travelling in the same direction when the collision occurred.

Neither driver sustained any injuries, and the second vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Police have charged a 39-year-old Brampton resident with careless driving. Police have not released the name or any additional details on the driver.

The highway was closed for hours as a result of the crash, and police say the roadway was reopened around 10:00 p.m.
