Two teens charged with robbery after hold-up with a fake gun in Brampton

Peel Regional Polcie say this BB gun was seized during a robbery investigation in April, 2023.

Two 17-year-olds from Brampton are facing robbery charges after police say a teen was robbed in a violent hold-up with a fake gun last month.

Peel Regional Police say that a 17-year-old from Brampton was in the area of Main St. and Gillingham Dr. on the evening of March 12 when they were held up at gunpoint.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident but police say that they were robbed of personal property.

Police say they identified a 17-year-old female suspect shortly after the hold-up and charged the youth with one count of robbery. She was released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on a future date, police said.

Then on Monday, police say officers searched a home in the area of Wanless Dr. and Mclaughlin Rd. in Brampton where they found a BB gun replica firearm. The bb was seized and police arrested a 17-year-old male from Brampton with one count each of Robbery; Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing Offence; and Disguise with Intent.

The accused cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which protects the identities of the young persons charged in criminal investigations.
