Brampton teen stabbed, four youths in police custody

A Brampton youth has been rushed to hospital and four other teenagers are in police custody after a stabbing on Friday afternoon (Sept. 9).

Peel Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Sandalwood Pkwy. East and Torbram Rd. in Brampton around 12:15 p.m. on Friday for reports of a stabbing.

Police say one teenager was stabbed and has been transported to a local trauma centre in non-life threatening condition.

Four other youths, all under the age of 19, have been taken into custody by police, according to a police spokesperson.

Peel Paramedics confirmed one individual was transported from the area but could not comment on the extent of the injuries, or give additional details of the victim.

Police were unable to provide more details on the suspects, but said the stabbing was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
