Brampton teen shot dead in targeted killing: police

Police say 19-year-old Jahleel McKoy of Brampton was shot and killed in March.

Police are searching for suspects after a 19-year-old was shot and killed in a daylight shooting earlier this week.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday (March 1), police say shots rang out in a residential area near Cresthaven Road and Torada Court in Brampton.

When officers arrived on scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim died at the scene and police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Jahleel McKoy of Brampton.

Police have not released any suspect information but said on Tuesday that a vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the shooting.

“At this time there is no suspect information available to share, however this is believed to be an isolated and targeted incident,” police said in a release.

Peel Regional Police say officers from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are investigating the shooting.
