Brampton teen charged with impaired driving in Caledon

A teenager from Brampton is facing impaired driving charges after an early morning crash in Caledon last weekend.

Around 5:45 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 22), the Caledon OPP say officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Old Church Rd. near Mount Pleasant Rd. in Caledon.

Police say they believed the driver was impaired and officers conducted a breath test. The driver was arrested and has had their licence suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was impounded for 90 days.

An 18-year-old from Brampton has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

Police are warning motorists not to drive if you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or make alternate plans.
