A Brampton teenager is facing charges for the death of a 61-year-old woman killed in a crash earlier this year.

Around 8:20 p.m. on April 13, Peel Regional Police say a man from Brampton was driving in the intersection of Countryside Dr. and Mcvean Dr.

Police say there was a collision in the intersection involving a second vehicle, and a 61-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was injured in the crash.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead, while the 18-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

On Tuesday (June 2), police arrested the 18-year-old driver of the second vehicle.

Inderdeep Singh Kandola of Brampton has been charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Death.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
