Brampton soccer star named Canada’s player of the month

Brampton's Tajon Buchanan is a star midfielder for the New England Revolution of the MLS.

Brampton’s Tajon Buchanan has been named the male player of the month by Soccer Canada.

This is the second consecutive player of the month award for Buchanan, who also nabbed the honour after a great run for Canada during the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.

The 22-year-old plays for the New England Revolution of the MLS and scored three times and had one assist during August.

Buchanan recently signed with Belgium’s Club Brugge, which he will be joining after finishing the MLS season with New England.

Goalie Stephanie Labbé, who led the Canadian women’s team to Olympic gold in Tokyo, won the female player of the month for August.
