Brampton will open four seasonal skating rinks tomorrow (Dec. 10), but because of COVID-19 protocols, it won’t be business as usual.

This year, skaters will have to book time on the ice in advance and will be limited to just one hour of skating.

The rinks involved are Gore Meadows Covered Outdoor Skating Rink, Chinguacousy Park Skate Recreational Trail, Gage Park Outdoor Skating Recreational Trail, and Mount Pleasant Outdoor Skating Rink.

The City of Brampton put the new rules in place to ensure capacity requirements are maintained and contract tracing is possible because of COVID-19.

The reservations are required for anyone who arrives at the rink whether they use the ice surface or not. This includes parents, guardians or anyone that is accompanying skaters.

Reservations are available up to 36 hours in advance. Residents can reserve their spot by:
• Registering online at cityofbrampton.perfectmind.com
• Calling our booking line at 905.791.2240
• Calling Service Brampton at 311 from within city limits

Participants are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to the skate to check in with staff at an onsite welcome tent.

This year, the City will open additional outdoor skating rinks at Flower City Community Campus, Valleybrook Park, Morris Kerbel Park, and Earnscliffe Park. These rinks will open later in December.
