Brampton shooting sends man to hospital; heavy police presence in the area

A shooting in Brampton Thursday night sent a man to hospital with a gunshot wound.
Peel Regional Police received reports that gunshots could be heard in the area of Dixie Rd. and Northclife St. at around 8:41 p.m., leading to a heavy police presence in the area.
The man taken to hospital is in stable condition.
Police said it was too soon in the investigation to provide suspect information.
