Brampton shooting death identified as Milton man

Peel Regional Police are requesting help from residents in an ongoing investigation concerning a fatal shooting in Brampton on Thursday evening.

On Thursday (Apr. 20) at approximately 7:10 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of Rutherford Rd/ Bramsteele Rd in Brampton.

Upon arrival, police say they located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The man was then transported to a trauma centre and life-saving measures were attempted. However, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Officers have identified the victim as 36-year-old Aomar Abolah from Milton.

After further investigation, the PRP believe it was a targeted incident and there is no evidence that suggests a direct threat to public safety.

Shortly after the incident, a white four-door newer model Scion with black rims was seen fleeing the area of the crime scene.
