The City of Brampton is seeking local artists to create an installation for the Lunar New Year.

This year, the City is launching the inaugural Lunar New Year Art Square, which will feature art installations celebrating the upcoming Year of the Tiger.

Four installations from local artists will be chosen to be displayed in Downtown Brampton’s Daily Times Square outside of City Hall during the City’s Lunar New Year event, which will run from January 25 to February 1, 2022.

The deadline to submit a proposal is October 31, and artists whose works have been selected to be included will be notified by November 5.

“Projects are selected based on artistic merit, originality, and ability to integrate within the festival’s scale, spirit and energy. The team is interested in showcasing local and regional talent in a variety of media,” reads a statement from the City.

“The goal of the program is to select artist/sculptor proposals that will enhance the overall event experience.”
