UPDATE: Brampton road closed after driver slams into pole

A segment of McLaughlin Road North in Brampton was closed down after a one-car crash during evening rush hour on Thursday (Aug. 12).
At 5:27 p.m., Peel Regional Police were told that a driver had slammed into a pole at McLaughlin Rd. N. and Red Maple Drive, causing the pole to fall on to the roadway. The driver’s injuries appear to be minor, but the southbound side of McLaughlin is shut down at Bovaird Drive.
The Peel police are advising drivers to take alternate routes.

UPDATE: The road reopened shortlyafter 9 p.m., more than 3½ hours after the crash was reported to the police.
