Brampton Residents Charged in Drug Trafficking Investigation

A number of Brampton residents have been charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

According to York Regional Police, in September 2018 investigators with their Organized Crime Bureau – Guns, Gangs, & Drug Enforcement Unit, began an investigation into a suspect believed to be trafficking cocaine and heroin in York Region.
On December 19, undercover officers arrested two of the suspects during a drug transaction in Brampton.
A vehicle used by the suspects was searched and officers located a quantity of cocaine and heroin.
On December 20, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Brampton and officers located a third suspect as well as a loaded handgun, approximately 200 unknown pills, scales and packaging materials.
20 year old Kwayne Barker and 24 year old Mark Duncan, both from Brampton, were charged with the following:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm With Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Trafficking Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime x 4
- Possession of Heroin for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
A third Brampton man, 24 year old Tyrell Jones, faces charges of:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm With Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
