Brampton resident charged after police find stolen transport truck in Hamilton

One person from Brampton is facing multiple charges in a stolen transport truck investigation today (Oct. 6).

OPP say the truck was recovered after being tracked along Hwy. 401 in the area of Cambridge, Ontario.

The vehicle was followed into the Waterdown area of Hamilton, where it had been abandoned.

A 38-year-old from Brampton, whose identity has not been shared by police at this time, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, theft over $5000, possession of stolen property over $5000, flight from police, and failing to stop for a police officer.

The arrest was a joint effort between OPP and Hamilton police, with aviation units and K9 units assisting.

Police haven’t specified where the transport truck was stolen from.
