Medical emergency ends Brampton rally for Conservative leadership candidate Poilievre

A rally for Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre was cancelled suddenly today (March 26) when an audience member collapsed.

Poilievre, in town to meet party members along with former Conservative leader Andrea Scheer, was in attendance at Pearson Convention Centre when a man collapsed and emergency crews were brought in.

The unidentified supporter was attended to at the scene and then taken to hospital where he is in critical condition, according to reports.

Poilievre briefly addressed the crowd of about 1,000 people and asked them to pray for the man’s recovery.

Poilievre, who leads in polls to claim the leadership job, said that he would return to Brampton in the near future as part of his campaign.
