More than 1,700 Alectra Utilities customers in Brampton were without power late Tuesday, after an electrical storm swept across Southern Ontario.

The outage is mostly in an area between Main Street and Hwy. 7, and Hwy. 107 and Hwy. 407.

Based on the map above, there are three separate outages within that one area. Alectra Utilities has not listed an expected time of resumption. The Alectra crews’ progress at restoring power may be tracked at outagemap.enersource.com/outagemap and on the utility’s @AlectraNews Twitter account.

During a power outage, any intersection where the traffic lights are not working is to be treated like an all-way stop.
