As Ontario continues to move towards fully reopening, the City of Brampton is preparing to roll out a complementary program urging residents to shop locally.
The Support Local Brampton initiative, which will be presented to the city’s committee of council meeting Wednesday, will feature a multi-pronged blitz of social media, traditional media and advertising on bus shelters and banners on local streets.
There are already banners flying on Queen St. asking people to discover and support local businesses. Store signs in the downtown core remind residents the impact COVID-19 has had on small and local businesses.
The focus will be local, local, local, with options for dining, personal care, event venues, parks and investment.
In addition, the tourism department will support and promote other tourism-related businesses in obtaining the Safe Travels Stamp, indicating the establishment is adhering to health, safety and COVID guidelines.
The stamp is recognized globally and is a program of the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario and the World Travel and Tourism Council. The Rose Theatre is one of the first to get the stamp.Insauga's Editorial Standards and Policies
