Brampton men charged in huge fentanyl bust

According to London Police Services (LPS), eighteen people, both adults and youths, are facing a combined 35 Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substances

According to London Police Services (LPS), eighteen people, both adults and youths, are facing a combined 35 Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges after the largest suspected Fentanyl seizure in LPS history last Friday.

According to LPS, members of the London Police Service Guns and Drugs Section seized $725,330 worth of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a loaded revolver, and $55,000 in cash early Friday morning after search warrants were executed at multiple locations throughout the city of London as well as in Brampton.

With the assistance of members of the LPS Emergency Response Unit, General Investigation Section, Investigative Response Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP, Community Oriented Response Unit and the Peel Regional Police, multiple search warrants were executed at addresses on Kipps Lane, Boler Road, Forbes Street, Snowden Crescent, Ontario Street, Marconi Boulevard and Dundas Street in London, according to LPS.

Additionally, a search warrant was executed at an address on Brushwood Drive in Brampton.

Items were seized including 2.062 kilograms of suspected Fentanyl valued at $721,700, 33 grams of suspected crystal Methamphetamine valued at $3,630, a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, a loaded .32 calibre revolver and approximately $55,000 in cash.

“This is the largest suspected Fentanyl seizure in London police history,” said Detective Sergeant Rob Merrimen, head of the LPS Guns and Drugs Section.

“Not only was a large quantity of drugs seized, but a significant amount of cash, and two loaded handguns. The assistance of our partnering police services and the cooperating units within the London Police Service was integral in the safe conclusion of this investigation. The illegal drugs will always be out there, and even though we removed some from the streets, we remain focused on addressing the threats to community safety posed by illegally-possessed firearms and drugs such as Fentanyl.”    

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals are facing the following charges:

Mohamed Abdirahman, 23 of Etobicoke was charged with public mischief divert suspicion from self or cause another to be suspected.

Liban Mohammed Ali, 31, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Kadeem Campbell, 28, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Connor Clements, 20, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

Jahnile Daley, 21, of Brampton was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; and fail to comply with release order.

Ashley Joleen Greaves, 37, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Jalal Khalaf, 23, of London was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of fail to comply with release order and possession of loaded/unloaded regulated firearm.

Hamdan Saeed Mahmoud, 22, of Brampton was charged with ossession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and fail to comply with release order.

Nathaniel McCoy, 21, of Brampton was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Sean McKegney, 46, of London was charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm.

Sierra Marie Mitchell, 23, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Bridget Anne Moore, 44, of London was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Javon Jermaine Shamall, 27, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Matthew Lorne Shaw, 34, of London was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Four youths, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are also facing the following charges.

A 16-year-old male, of London, was charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm.

A 17-year-old male, of London, was charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm.

A 17-year-old male, of London, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

A 13-year-old male, of London, was charged with fail to comply with undertaking.
