In a step towards transparency, Brampton is considering publishing the names and contact info of City officials on its website.

Currently, the city publishes a basic hierarchy of departments and the commissioner’s name. But there are no links to emails or extension numbers or anyone else who works in any of the sub-departments.

A change would bring the city in line with most other governments, as well as established best practises. It would improve customer service by allowing residents easier and quicker access to the person who can best help them.

The issue will be raised at Wednesday’s Committee of Council meeting,
