If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.

That mantra worked for Brampton man Vidhushan Rasanathan, who recently matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the March 22, 2025, Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000.

Rasanathan, a chef and father of two, told OLG that he’s been playing various jackpot games for nearly 16 years. He said he always plays the same set of numbers and adds Encore to his tickets.

“I’d gone to the store to buy my next set of tickets and decided to scan my Lotto 6/49 using the store’s ticket checker,” Rasanathan told OLG.

“When I saw all the zeroes on the screen, I was shocked! I went back to my car and scanned my ticket again, this time using the OLG app on my phone. In disbelief, I video-called my wife and shared the astonishing news. She was overwhelmed and had happy tears streaming down her face.”

Rasanathan said he’ll use his windfall to pay bills and treat his kids.

“Being a winner provides a sense of comfort. This win will allow me to pay off bills and buy some special gifts for our children.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso/On the Run on Lake Street in St. Catharines.
