Brampton man facing firearms and drug charges after arrest in Fairview

A Brampton man has been arrested after police say they found drugs, cash and a loaded handgun at a residence in Fairview.

On Wednesday (Nov. 24), Peel Regional Police say officers from the Guns and Gangs Team searched a residence near Hanson Rd. and Fairview Rd. in Brampton.

Police say they found a loaded Kel Tec .38 calibre handgun which had “an altered serial number,” six rounds of ammunition, drugs and money in the home.

Police have charged Anthony Sutherland, 31, of Brampton, with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Proceeds of Crime

Sutherland was reportedly held for a bail hearing and at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
