Brampton man dead in overnight shooting in Vaughan

One of the victims of a fatal shooting that took place this week in Vaughan has been identified as a man from Brampton.

At 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, York Regional Police responded to a shooting at an industrial plaza on Creditstone Road near Highway 7 West.

Officers located two men with gunshot wounds. One victim was found without vital signs and was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening-injuries and is now in stable condition.

The deceased is identified as 23-year-old Brampton man Jayden Pitter.

Police say they’re searching for two suspects who were wearing dark clothing at the time of the shooting and fled in a dark-coloured, mid-sized SUV.

“Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting,” said York police.

It’s believed there were several people in the area at the time of the shooting, and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators are urged to contact the York Regional Police Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7865.
