Brampton man charged with firearm offences after loaded gun found

Peel Regional Police arrested and charged a Brampton man with multiple firearm-related offences following the discovery of a loaded gun during a search warrant.

On Friday (Feb. 9) investigators from the Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing Unit (STEP) searched a house in Brampton and found a loaded firearm with a loaded extended magazine.

Jaiden Bennett, 24, faces several charges including two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and careless storage of a firearm.

Bennett was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Police have not provided an image of the accused or further details regarding the search, arrest and charges.
