Brampton man charged in fatal collision

A man has been charged after a fatal collision in Brampton last month.

A Brampton man is up on dangerous driving charges after a two-car crash in the city claimed the life of an elderly woman.

Two cars collided at Brampton’s Chinguacousy Rd and Burt Dr intersection around 2:30 p.m. on June 3. An 87-year-old woman was critically injured in the crash and later succumbed to her wounds.

The other driver Tajender Sidhu, 31 of Brampton suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local trauma centre.

Video obtained by insauga of the crash wreckage shows a taped-off scene with firecrews, paramedics and police on site. A grey sedan can be seen with its front end crushed in to the axel.

A black sedan can be scene off the roadway. It too suffered significant front-end damage and nearly crashed in to a brick corner wall.

Peel Regional Police arrested Sidhu on July 11 and charged him with dangerous driving and dangerous driving causing death. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 21 to answer the charges.

Investigators have asked any witness to come forward. They have also requested anyone with dash cam or security footage to present it to officers.
