Brampton man arrested for string of ‘porch thefts’ in Oakville, Burlington, Milton

A Brampton man has been arrested in connection with multiple thefts of packages from front doors in Burlington, Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills.
Halton police from the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau made an arrest and laid multiple charges after a lengthy investigation.
The two-month long investigation linked a series of thefts from residential porches to one suspect.
Ravneet Brar, 25, of Brampton, was arrested today (Mar. 18) after police executed a search warrant at a residence in Brampton where they recovered stolen property.
Brar has been charged with 19 counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He has been released from custody pending a court appearance.
Police offer the following tips for residents when having packages delivered:
- Have packages delivered to your workplace
- Arrange deliveries for when someone will be home
- Have the post office hold your package
- Have package shipped to a store
- Request signature upon delivery
- Request carriers place package out of sight
