Halton police have arrested one of the two suspects they believe were involved in last week’s violent carjacking in Milton that was caught on video.

The incident, which went viral on social media, occurred Feb. 21 in a Metro parking lot. Two men were seen abandoning a white pickup truck, which had been in an earlier police chase and drove through an elementary school fence, and pulling a woman out of her parked car.

Shawn Moore, 38, of Brampton has been charged with robbery, several counts of possessing stolen property, mischief and theft.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators are still actively seeking the arrest of the second suspect, Gary Walker, who remains at large. If you see Walker, do not approach, and call police immediately.
