Police have released details on a unique break and enter incident in Brampton that happened very recently.

A Brampton man was arrested and charged after hiding in the ceilings of local pizza shops late at night to attempt robbery.

According to police, on Friday, October 27, a call came in at 12:50 a.m. regarding a suspicious person in the ceiling of the Pizza Nova at Mavis and Steeles, on Clementine.

Police arrived on scene shortly after and arrested and charged the man.

This was not, however, an isolated incident.

The same man was charged with a similar incident, where he also hid in a ceiling, just days before. Police were advised of another break and enter at a Pizza Nova, this time on the north end of Hurontario, where they say some items were stolen.

Alec Rodante Ameri, 20, of Brampton, was arrested and charged for both incidents, with one count of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, and one count of breaking out after committing an indictable offence.

Ameri has a court date scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
