Brampton man and teenaged girl arrested in stolen car in Vaughan

This pistol was allegedly found during the arrest of a man from Brampton and a teenager from Vaughan. - via York police.

A man from Brampton and a teenage girl from Vaughan were arrested in a stolen car last week.

York Regional Police said they got a call shortly before 3 a.m. on Feb. 24 about a suspicious car driving near Cedar Glen Crt. and Forest Heights Blvd, an upscale residential area of Vaughan

Responding officers soon found the car with two people inside. Their investigation discovered the car had been reported stolen from Toronto.

The driver tried to run from the car, police say, but was unsuccessful. He was quickly arrested without further incident, as was the passenger. Officers searched the car and claim to have found a loaded pistol inside.

Shane Felix, 27 of Brampton and a teen girl, 16 of Vaughan, have been charged with a collective 12 offences including; dangerous driving, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a prohibited gun and possession of a gun in a car.

The name of the teenager is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
