A Brampton resident is $1 million richer after winning the September 17 Lotto Max draw.

Kamal Kishore, who is an occasional lottery player, said he couldn’t believe it when he found out he had won.

“I was so shocked! I can’t explain the joy—it’s so nice,” he said.

The 49-year-old father and husband said he intends to use some of his winnings to start a business to provide employment for those who have lost work due to the pandemic.

He also said he will use some of the money to take his wife on vacation. “I’d like to surprise my wife with a trip when it’s safe to travel,” he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Airport Road in Mississauga.
