The Brampton Library is cutting back on hours to keep up with staffing challenges.

All Brampton Library branches returned to pre-pandemic hours last year, but are now closed on Sundays until further notice.

Todd Kyle, Chief Executive Officer for the Brampton Library, said the temporary reduction in hours is due to pandemic-related staff shortages, and said the library is working to restore Sunday services as soon as possible.

“Due to the same pandemic-related staff shortages being experienced across most sectors, Brampton Library came to the difficult decision to close on Sundays,” Kyle said in a statement to inSauga.com. “Knowing how much our residents value Library space, we are working hard to fill staff vacancies and return to full service levels as quickly as possible.”

All branches except the South West location are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The South West Branch is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
