A new, online form introduced by William Osler Health System (Osler) this summer means patients are spending less time registering for emergency care at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital, resulting in shorter wait times to see a physician.

Osler’s new emergency department online pre-registration form provides patients with greater autonomy by enabling them to fill out their personal information electronically, on their own personal devices.

It also helps improve the patient experience and privacy by eliminating the need to verbally share personal information in a public setting.

The pre-registration form is an option available to all emergency department walk-in patients at the time of their visit via a QR code displayed throughout the department.

“Osler’s emergency departments continue to be among the busiest in the province,” said Kiki Ferrari, Osler’s chief operating officer.

“By implementing the online pre-registration form, we are streamlining and enhancing the patient experience by improving the accuracy of collected patient information and the time to see a physician. This will ultimately support more efficient patient flow, ensuring Osler can continue to care for its community when and where needed.”

Registration clerks are available to help patients with form, or can complete their registration at the registration desks for those who choose not to use the form.

More information can be found on the Osler website.
