Brampton’s AJ Lawson has received an invite to the National Basketball Association’s draft combine.

The event brings together the top college basketball standouts and international players who are eligible for this year’s NBA draft.

Lawson is a 6-foot-7 shooting guard who played three years for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He attended St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton.

Although still a bit of a longshot to be drafted, Lawson’s stock is on the rise after an impressive performance at a G League camp in front of G League and NBA scouts. The G League is a professional feeder league for the NBA.

The evaluation camp is currently underway in Chicago and the NBA draft is July 29 in New York.
