Brampton has 727 new cases of COVID-19 today pushing Peel numbers above 1,000

New cases of COVID-19 in Peel Region have leaped across the 1,000 mark for the first time today with Brampton recording more than 700 cases.

Government of Ontario numbers show 1,232 new cases of the virus in total for Peel Region, a record breaking number that has been losing its impact recently as each day has the potential of busting through new barriers.

Toronto has 1,257 COVID-19 cases today which combined with Peel account for more than half of all new cases in Ontario, which had recorded 4,505 province-wide.

Local figures show 727 new cases in Brampton alone, an amount that is greater than several GTA communities combined aside from Toronto.

Mississauga has 417 new cases and Caledon accounts for the remaining amount in Peel.
