A Brampton grandfather will be spreading the love and the cash to his family members after taking home $100,000 playing Lotto Max.

Sanjay Puri is a salesman from Brampton who won big by matching the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order on the Aug. 9 Lotto Max draw.

The 58-year-old father of two and grandfather of two said he thought it was an advertisement when he received the email from OLG informing him of his win.

“It looked different from other ones, and I was still a bit sleepy,” Puri said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I couldn’t believe it, but it was real.”

Puri said his wife, on the other hand, wasn’t fully convinced at first.

“She couldn’t believe it was possible,” Puri said.

Puri said he plans to share his win with his family, saying “everyone gets a pay cheque.”

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1, with a draw every day.

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, with prize winners between $1,000 and $49,999.90 encouraged to submit their claims online or mail them.

Submitting claims online is fast, secure and enables OLG to process the claim in a timely manner. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.

The winning ticket was purchased online at OLG.ca.
