An early winter has arrived in Brampton.

At around 1 p.m. on Sunday (Nov 22), the entire GTA got hit with snow, but Brampton received the brunt with close to 25 cm of snow falling in the northeast area of the city — the most snow out of all areas across the GTA.

Snow started falling early Sunday morning and started to accumulate in both Brampton and Mississauga.

According to Environment Canada, the GTA experienced a snowstorm with 19.4 cm of snow, beating the record of 7.6 cm on the same date back in 2007.

Usually, the first 10cm snowfall of the winter occurs in mid-December.

The amount of snow that fell varied across the GTA and less than 2cm fell in the southern parts of Toronto.

  • Brampton – 24.5cm
  • Toronto Pearson Airport – 19cm
  • Oakville – 13cm
  • Kitchener– 21cm
  • Waterloo– 20cm
  • Barrie– 10cm
  • Windsor– 14cm
  • Guelph– 18cm
