Brampton crash sends man to hospital, closes portion of Hwy 50

Peel Police are on the scene of a collision that has closed a major road in northeast Brampton Friday morning (Feb. 11).
A man has been taken to a local trauma centre after sustaining serious injuries in the crash that occurred in the area of Highway 50 and Countryside Road shortly after 1 a.m. Friday.
Police said Highway 50 was closed north and southbound from Mayfield Road and Countryside for an investigation.
Motorists were urged to use alternate routes.
UPDATE: Around 1:00 p.m., police said southbound Highway 50 had reopened while the northbound lanes remained closed due to debris from the crash.
