A pit stop while running errands has left a Brampton couple $100,000 richer and feeling blessed.

Brampton resident Conrado Dominguez says he was headed to pick up his wife Leonor when he decided to check a recently purchased Lotto 6/49 ticket on the way.

Conrado said he and his wife only occasionally play the lottery. He had no idea he’d won a huge prize when checking the ticket, and was shocked when the store clerk told him he’d won big.

Leonor was in disbelief when learning about the win.

“I came to Canada to work hard and this gift is an incredible and emotional surprise,” she said.

Now with an extra $100,000 in the bank, the couple plans to use the winnings to finish some home renovations and share some of the cash with their loved ones.

“I’m very happy and so thankful for this incredible blessing,” Conrado said.

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1, with a draw every day.

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, with prize winners between $1,000 and $49,999.90 encouraged to submit their claims online or mail them.

Submitting claims online is fast, secure and enables OLG to process the claim in a timely manner. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jac’s Milk Convenience on Dundas Street in Mississauga.
