In this piece called ‘Just a Phase,’ Brampton artist Chris Munusami encompasses the tiger’s twelve-year lunar cycle and the ambitious year that lies ahead.

Brampton is celebrating the Lunar New Year with public art exhibits that will be on display at Daily Times Square.

Along with the Brampton Chinese Business Association, the city is featuring the work of four local artists that celebrate Canadian heritage and East Asian culture.

Installations for Lunar New Year Art Square will run until Feb. 14 in Daily Times Square at 33 Queen Street West from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The tiger theme is front and centre in the works, including an illuminated moon encircled by a tiger in the piece titled “Just a Phase” by Brampton artist Chris Munusami.

Munusami says the piece encompasses the tiger’s twelve-year lunar cycle and the ambitious year that lies ahead.

Visual artist Khaula Siddique made a light-up laser-cut acrylic tiger and lotus. Siddique says she loves bringing art to the community, and hopes her piece will inspire people to be resilient.
