Charges have been laid against an alleged burglar from Brampton after a break-in at a Caledon home on the weekend.

Just after 1:45 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 26), the OPP say officers from the Caledon detachment say they were called to a home on Winston Churchill Blvd.

Police say a resident called police after someone entered the home by breaking through the front door.

When officers arrived they found a 44-year-old from Brampton inside the home, police said. The man was arrested at the scene and police have laid impaired driving and break-and-enter charges.

Dwayne Miller, 44, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 16 to answer the charges. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
