Brampton music video producer Julien Christian Lutz, a.k.a. Director X receives his Brampton Arts Walk of Fame honours in September of 2018.

Brampton artists can help strengthen the city’s creative identity by joining the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame’s nomination working group.

The city is looking for four emerging and established artists to join the volunteer working group which helps guide the nomination of future Arts Walk of Fame inductees.

It is an opportunity to strengthen Brampton’s creative identity by recognizing and celebrating outstanding artists that have emerged from the city and made an extraordinary impact on contemporary culture and modern audiences.

One of the city’s key recognition programs, Brampton’s Arts Walk of Fame celebrates and helps build connections with the incredible artistic and creative talent from Brampton while inspiring the next generation of artists and creators to follow in their footsteps.

Applicants to the nomination group need to demonstrate strong knowledge and a connection to Brampton, and should have expertise and experience in the arts and creative industries.

The deadline to apply to the nomination working group is April 11 at 4:00 p.m. For more information visit Brampton.ca.

Brampton Arts Walk of Fame inductees are required to either be from Brampton or having spent their formative years in the city. Inductees are selected for achieving excellence in the arts and entertainment industry, for building pride in the Brampton community, and inspiring emerging artists and creators.

For 2022, late Brampton artist and music industry trailblazer Denise Jones is the newest inductee into the city’s Arts Walk of Fame.

The Canadian-Jamaican actor, music industry veteran and Chair of the Juno Awards reggae category was CEO and co-founder of Jones & Jones Productions.

Jones was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2019 and died in December 2020.

The longtime Brampton resident will be posthumously celebrated for her impact on Canadian music when she is added to the Arts Walk of Fame later this year, joining the likes of actor Alan Thicke, music video director Director X (aka Julien Christian Lutz), and musicians Johnny Reid and Exco Levi to name a few.
