Bowmanville woman wins $50,000-plus on Ontario 49 draw

Marcia Lue of Bowmanville is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the February 19 draw. She also won $1,850 on her other ONTARIO 49 selections brining her total winnings to $51,850.

Lue said she doesn’t play the lottery often, but when she does, she plays ONTARIO 49. “This was a Quick Pick,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I started matching my numbers to the winnings number when I realized I won. I was extremely surprised!”

She quickly shared her big news with everyone in her house. “They all said, ‘Whoa!’”

“It’s a good feeling! I will put this money away for now.”

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto and strongly encourages those with claims between $1,000 and $49,999.90 to submit them online or mail them in. Submitting claims online is fast and secure. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Longworth Avenue in Bowmanville.
